About me

My name is Ian. I’m an electrical engineer who likes to make things. One day I saw a video of a CNC cutting acrylic to make LED neon signs on Instagram and I thought, “I can do that.”

But I don’t have a CNC mill, I only had a 3D printer. So instead of cutting channels out of a sheet of acrylic, I designed an interlocking channel system designed to hold the LEDs and hide the wires. The result was a unique new take on a stale medium, and people started asking how much I charge.

Since then, I’ve refined the channel system over and over and over to make the signs sturdier, safer, easier to print, easier to assemble, and easier to service. I look forward to every opportunity I’m given to help manifest the dreams of others, and I love putting my all into my work.

About Neon Vision Signs

As this tiny operation has expanded into a small business, I’ve had to create more structure, get more help, and buy more printers. This was originally a side business to fund my lab equipment addiction, and will likely remain so into the near future. It’s also a vehicle for me to learn more about what it takes to create and build businesses.

At the moment, it’s just me, my partner Angel, and our friend Vince. Thanks for checking us out!

Frequently Asked Questions

Price varies based on the size and complexity of the design. Most orders fall within $50-$300

To get price all we need is a reference image/graphic and the approximate size.

That’s okay, please take your time and consider logos, graphics, or phrases that carry significance for you. If you’d like help selecting from a handful of different designs, we’re happy to help you pick and quote whichever options you are considering. We want to do everything we can to make your dreams come to light 🙂

Our average lead time is around 4-6 weeks. Each sign is modeled and assembled by hand.

Literally as big as you want. I’m serious, there’s no limit. Of course, cost and complexity increase with size. Our largest sign to date has been 4’x12′!

Glad you asked!

  • Wiring is completely hidden
  • Greater sizing options
  • Color matching options between frame and lights
  • Easier to weatherproof
  • Possible to discreetly install complex electronics

That’s okay too. It’s easiest for us if you are able to provide a graphic from the beginning, but we can help you put together your neon vision. We can also forward you to additional resources for graphic and logo design if needed.
